Thoughtput – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to Thoughtput on Android, the web app at web.thoughtput.co.in, and the marketing site at thoughtput.co.in.

1. Our privacy principles

• Thoughtput is built for pseudonymous use: other users generally see your username and public activity, not your legal name or contact details.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not use your Thoughtput content to train general-purpose AI models.
• Ads may appear to fund the Service; we do not engineer the feed to maximize addiction for ad revenue.
• Some verification and safety data is kept so the community stays accountable even when posts are anonymous.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account and profile

• Username, password (stored in hashed form), and profile details you choose to add (for example display preferences or bio)
• Account status, role flags, and onboarding progress

2.2 Contact and verification

• Email address and/or phone number when you provide them for verification
• Verification status (email verified, phone verified) used to unlock posting and anonymous posting
• We use verification to reduce abuse while allowing pseudonymous participation

2.3 Content you create

• Posts (including anonymous posts), images, tags, comments/conversations, messages where offered, reports, and similar contributions
• Reputation signals such as badges, rankings, or contribution scores derived from activity

2.4 Technical and usage data

• Device and browser type, app version, approximate network information (such as IP address), language, and timestamps
• Logs needed for security, debugging, rate limits, and reliability
• Cookies and similar technologies on the web (see our Cookie Policy)

2.5 Advertising-related data (third parties)

On Android we may use Google AdMob; on the web we may use Google AdSense or related Google advertising products. Those providers may collect device identifiers, cookie IDs, IP address, and interaction data under their policies to show and measure ads.

2.6 Support

• Messages you send to support or helpdesk channels, and related metadata

We do not require your real name to use Thoughtput. If you voluntarily include personal details in posts or chats, that information may be visible according to the feature you used.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve Thoughtput
• Authenticate you, secure accounts, and prevent fraud or abuse
• Enable verification-gated features and anonymous posting rules
• Deliver feeds, tags, notifications, rankings, and social features
• Show and measure advertising through third-party networks
• Comply with law, enforce Terms, and respond to lawful requests
• Communicate about the Service (security notices, policy updates, support replies)

4. Pseudonymity and anonymity

• Pseudonymous use: Your public identity is typically your username, not your real-world identity.
• Anonymous posts: After both email and phone are verified, you may post without showing your username to other users. We may still associate that content with your account on our systems for moderation, safety, spam prevention, and legal compliance.
• Verification contacts are not shown publicly as part of normal posting.

Absolute anonymity from Devoids (the operator) is not possible while we operate accounts, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

5. Sharing of information

We may share information with:

• Service providers who help us host, store media, send email/SMS verification, monitor uptime, or provide support tooling, under contractual obligations
• Advertising partners such as Google (AdMob / AdSense) as needed to serve ads
• Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
• Successors in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to this Policy’s spirit and notice where required

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data for others’ independent marketing unrelated to operating Thoughtput, except as described for advertising technologies above.

6. International processing

Thoughtput may be hosted or supported using infrastructure and vendors in India and other countries. Where data is transferred, we take steps appropriate to the context and applicable Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, where it applies).

7. Retention

We keep information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After deletion or inactivity, we may retain limited data for:

• Backup integrity and disaster recovery (for a limited period)
• Security logs and fraud prevention
• Legal claims, disputes, and compliance
• Content that was reshared or remains in others’ conversations

Exact periods vary by data type and legal need.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as hashed passwords, HTTPS, access controls, and operational monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and protect your devices.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law (including Indian data protection law), you may have rights to:

• Access or correct certain account information
• Delete your account or request deletion of personal data
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based (for example optional verification contact use beyond necessity)
• Lodge a complaint with a relevant authority

Product settings and contact@devoids.in are the primary ways to exercise requests. We may need to verify the request and may retain data where the law allows or requires.

You can also control cookies via browser settings (see Cookie Policy) and advertising preferences via Google’s ad settings where available.

10. Children

Thoughtput is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date and, where the product requires it, a prompt to review and agree again. The current version is always available at https://thoughtput.co.in/privacy.
